What's new with Burro 6.43?
This release is about making row work something you set up once and trust. You can now map your rows, generate routes for them, and send your Burros down them without babysitting the turns. Alongside that, we've gone after the things that quietly cost you time: rows that drifted, warnings that cried wolf, manual control that lagged a beat behind your thumb, and hardware faults that should never have reached the field. Here's what's new.

Row to Row
Map your rows, generate your routes, run them end to end
Row to Row brings full row-crop route planning to BOSS Web. Collect your rows, build a map of your field, and generate routes your Burros can traverse — with headland turns and implement control handled for you.
Steps
Collect your rows. Walk your rows with an RTK Torch to capture GPS points, or draw them directly over a drone map in BOSS Web.
Upload to BOSS Web. Bring your GPS points in and build a map of the field.
Generate routes. BOSS Web creates routes that traverse the rows, including the headland transitions between them.
Select and run. On the robot, pick the area you're working in to find the routes you want to run.
What's supported
Single & multi-pass routes — generate a single pass down each row, or multiple passes for wider coverage.
Custom implement widths — set the width of what you're pulling and let route spacing follow.
Lidar Row Centering — Burros hold their line down the row rather than relying on GPS alone.
Mower On/Off in the headlands — with a Cortador attached, routes can be configured so the mower shuts off while the robot is turning in the headlands and comes back on inside the row.
Notes
Single-pass Row to Row is available in 6.43, with the matching BOSS Web updates rolling out this week.
Crop-fill multi-pass support is still landing — we'll share timing once it's confirmed.
Coming in 6.44: the Serial API will report whether the robot is currently inside or outside a row, so third-party implements can react automatically.
⭐️ Improvements
Rows You Can Trust 🌿
Straight down the row, every pass — with fewer interruptions along the way.
Steadier centering in inconsistent rows. Burros could drift off center in rows where the foliage was much heavier on one side than the other. That's fixed — your Burros now hold the middle of the row even when the canopy isn't cooperating.
Fewer false warnings. The most common causes of "off-path" and "misaligned task" warnings have been resolved. Burros that are tracking their route correctly no longer report themselves as off course.
Fewer slowdowns around vehicles. Burros are better at telling other Burros apart from everything else, so they stop less often for trucks, carts, and other traffic moving through the space.
Hardware, Protected 🛡️
Problems caught on board, before they cost you a part or a day.
Motor cooling diagnostics are checked before every run. Cooling now starts up reliably, and the robot won't run at all if it doesn't. If something's wrong, the robot tells you what it found.
Blown fuses prevented. Trying to drive the robot before it was fully powered up could blow a fuse. Burros now hold still until the drive system is ready.
Manual Control That Listens 🎮
Manual control moves when you command it, and stops when you release it.
No more drifting after you let go. Burros could keep moving after the manual control button was released. Several fixes address this — the robot now stops the moment you let go.
Less lag. A round of reliability work has tightened the gap between your input and the robot's response.
Ready When You Are ⚙️
Settings that stick, schedules that fit your day, and a quieter screen.
Broader scheduling for patrol work. You can now schedule multiple missions of the same type in a single day — useful for patrol routes that repeat.
Your settings stay put through a reset. Language and battery capacity are no longer wiped when you reset to defaults. Battery capacity only changes when you change it.
Ground height slider reflects real height. The slider now accounts for tire height, so the number you set is the actual clearance from the ground. An Industrial Tire profile has been added.
A quieter screen. The on-screen sensor warnings that were confusing operators without indicating a real problem have been removed.
Relaunch button removed. The relaunch button in the sidebar menu was unreliable and has been taken out. Power cycle the robot instead.
⚠️ Behavior change: If you were using the relaunch button to recover the robot, use a power cycle going forward.
Under the Hood 🔧
Reliability work across the robot and the software it talks to.
Person Follow no longer gets stuck loading. Switching modes or tasks very quickly could leave the robot unresponsive to the next request. Fixed.
Serial API connects more reliably. The Serial API could fail to start if the device wasn't plugged in when the robot booted. It now connects regardless of the order you power things on.
GPS recovers on its own. Losing RTK after a USB disconnect used to require someone to go out and fix it. The robot now recovers on its own.
Camera settings stay correct. Cameras now reliably run with the right exposure settings.
Better multi-day uptime. Memory use crept up on robots left running for several days at a time. That's resolved.
Faster route loading. Site maps now load 3.5× faster on the robot.
